Yahya Ahmed Saif Al-Sarhani is a senior economic and financial expert with nearly three decades of experience spanning public finance, higher education, research, and professional training. His career reflects a unique combination of practical government experience, academic leadership, and applied research in accounting, finance, and economic analysis.
He served for almost 20 years as an Accounting Auditor at the Ministry of Finance in Oman, where he developed deep expertise in public financial management, auditing practices, and regulatory frameworks. Since 2015, he has been a Lecturer at the Oman College of Management and Technology, contributing to academic development, curriculum delivery, and capacity building, in addition to serving as Head of the Student Affairs Department.
Yahya holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from Central Queensland University (Australia) and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Sciences from Sadat Academy for Management Sciences (Egypt). His academic and professional work is supported by strong analytical skills, advanced empirical research capabilities, and extensive experience in financial analysis.
He is an active researcher with multiple peer-reviewed publications in international journals, focusing on Islamic banking, corporate governance, intellectual capital, SME financing, and financial systems in Oman and the GCC. He has also presented his research at several international conferences and contributed to policy-relevant discussions in banking, finance, and economic development.
In addition to research and teaching, Yahya has delivered numerous professional workshops and training programs for government entities and public-sector employees in areas such as financial analysis, accounting for non-accountants, auditing quality, and institutional performance.
Through his work, he brings a balanced perspective that integrates academic rigor, real-world financial expertise, and strategic insight, making him a valuable contributor to economic studies, feasibility assessments, financial consulting, and capacity-building initiatives.
